Beschreibung

The University of Bergen (UiB) is an internationally recognised research university. Academic diversity and high quality are fundamental for the university. UiB is the most cited university in Norway. There are seven faculties at UiB and there are more than 18 000 students at the university. Around 2000 of these are international students. The Faculty of Fine Art, Music and Design (KMD) offers BA, MA and PhD programmes based on an internationally recognised level of artistic research. Future artists, designers, performing musicians, composers, music therapists, musicologists, curators, and music and art teachers are educated. The faculty consists of about 600 students and 130 staff members. Academic activities are organised across three departments with a joint administration: Fine Art, Music, and Design. The academic staff at the departments of Fine Art and Design share the same facilities in a new building especially designed by the Norwegian architecture firm Snøhetta.
