We are very pleased about our newly concluded cooperation with GUC, German University in Cairo (Egypt). The German University Cairo (GUC) is a private foundation university in Cairo based on the model of German technical universities. The GUC started in 2003 and now at least 12,000 young people from Egypt and the region study there in over 70 different bachelor's and master's degree programs. We are already looking forward to numerous exciting projects as well as professional and intercultural exchange between our department and the "Faculty of Applied Sciences and Arts”. The GUC degree programs in graphic, media and product design educate young designer personalities who actively and critically shape social, cultural and economic change. Exciting overlaps and complementarities can be found in the design programs in Dortmund and Cairo. All courses offered by GUC are in English. Applications for semesters abroad will be possible from winter semester 2021/22 on.
