Abstract:

This lecture will concentrate on the possibilities and challenges of extending realities by bringing together art and immersive technologies (AR, VR, MR). We will look at a select number of existing projects and get a more in-depth look into the making-of “Beuys AR.” The project aims to take users on a metaphysical journey through the world and ideas of late artist Joseph Beuys – in augmented reality. Please note that this is not a technical lecture but rather a look into how technologies can enable ideas and be used to re-thinking paradigms of expression and engagement.
